This Reality

a moment caught in a blink
the image, the lingering after-image
etched on the inside of my eyelid in negative relief
Which reality do I follow?

the one laid out before me
the one perceived when the lights go down
this shadowed landscape that flashes faster than perception
as the light finishes its relativistic trip through the retina

then slows down to nerve impulse level
a mere spark through an electrochemical medium
looming large for an instant
showing the glowing lines of light’s reflection, refraction

As perception rules reality, reality bends for a blink
Then I breathe and take a step
into the brand new world
created in that instant

darkness chased away
gentle fingers of my lashes no longer tangled
my eyes unfettered
I face the new day created a thousand times

to be destroyed again

Into the Cranial Chaos

(Reposted from recovery)

The blending is taking the stark
making gray

                 Bold realizations become clouds

the static murmuring, burning bland
When all is heat, then hot has no reference
and cold burns

Interrupt driven

grinding the gears, pushing steam
hold this chaos, hold this mind
a misfire sparks a wildfire and bathes one in the instant glory that leaves ashes

But the come down
post orgasmic tremors

The gray takes over, and there is no set Medelbrot can create to break this constant shade that makes my shade crave escape again.

Like the gray matters in the grey matter.

Blend away

bend until they become the same

break away from this path and just have this moment as we embrace again the inner peace of gathered fragments that is the cranial chaos

That was once our lives
