Rebirth

Each night we die and rise to the world of the unconscious, only to arise from our short journey into sampled death, to be reborn into the new day.

T Time

I was threatened with death again.
Threatened with a visit from an old friend
He was as confused as was I
To be threatened with a friend stopping by

I was threatened with hell today
Filled with the memories of the places I’d play
Where at least the suffering was ordered and expected
And the quiet solitude of being left alone; neglected.

My visitor spoke of past visits we had
Small talk filling the space filled with air gone bad
Silver linings of the accidents finding a cure
The pain was cleansing of I could endure

We called up God and asked what made them irate
they said it was who made them that was filled with hate
They were dreamed up by us needing an excuse
for the shit that we did and all the abuse

We pretended that service was what we required
but in gods we created the reasons we desired
to be righteous in the depravity we sought
sold our souls for excuses and that’s what we bought

Before the sword

I am cast out
falling
you’ll find me burning
before you find me crawling

vile deceiver
screaming
Reality raw
Eden was man lost dreaming

Just creation
nature
built in instincts call
Lines between man and ape blur

Mankind was lied to
before the sword
rotting in a garden
eternity bored
good and evil
wisdom denied
light-bringer fell
when heaven lied

another death
nailed it
save from creation
once the father has failed it

blood borne flesh needs
made me
driven by my needs
until I find who flayed me

born into death
rotting
walking decomposed
what is the maker plotting

Is it chaos
no plan
fluke of the machine
that made us more than human

Mankind was lied to
before the sword
rotting in a garden
eternity bored
good and evil
wisdom denied
light-bringer fell
when heaven lied

Stones

The chains embedded, screwed through flesh into bone
Bolted to limbs, deep in the marrow, each riveted to its own stone

The friction compels you to lay down and die
The weight choruses the song of futility
The screws turn; digging deeper, invisible agony
Clouding the feedback of your reality

Each time you rise higher the chains let you climb
The stones mute and unmoving
Until the end of the slack jerks you to entropy
And drag you away from improving

When floods of despair enter your plane
Filling it full of uncertainty
the chains let you swim gasping for air
The stones anchor you to your perversity

Self-doubt and ridicule are tied to your legs
Arms secured by bleak apathy
Trauma is bolted to the back of your skull
Your spine secured by antipathy

The chains just long enough to tease
letting you rise on hills of small pleasures
then guilt locks down on your chest
and drags you back down under pressure

There is no way out without some pain
removing the chains link by link
finally, take out the screws that can reconnect
before the stones make you forever sink
